Why can't religious nuts mind their own business?
-
Because God, if He exists, created a very large very strange Universe in which human beings seem rather insignificant. If we are so special in His eyes, it seems that He could have created a Universe in which we play a more central role.
-
Why does god have to provide insufficient evidence of his existence and leave room for so much skepticism? You would think this super all knowing, all good thing would avoid playing with our heads. Why the whole 'blind' faith and 'mystery' flavor thing?
-
Cos they would rather take the gamble and go to hell if they're wrong than believe and be dead forever with no reprocussion if they're wrong. It seems stupid to me but, hey, it isn't MY soul. I won't shove it down your throat if you are willing to take the chance on your own.
-
Kinda ironic in a way..mankind is not to be led blindly like lambs to a slaughter..but they are supposed to have blind faith :)
-
This question strikes me as slightly confusing. If it is directed towards people who believe in a Creator of the Universe and also that the Creator is a deity of a specific organized religion (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc..) then I would say the answer is that they simply want to live their lives according to their own desires regardless of the dictates of that God. But if it is meant as a broader question towards anyone who doesn't happen to live according to and believe in the God of the questioner above, Then I think it is simply a case of different belief systems and the question really doesn't make sense.
-
There is no actual evidence that there even is a God, let alone any that he created anything at all. It is all a made up story.
-
Because I like to see where I'm going. If I'm making shit up for myself through delusions and justifications and half assed theories about my belief that God doesn't exist, at least I'm following my own made up shit, instead of someone else's made up shit. :/
-
Because (some of them at least) are sensible enough not to rely on something that doesn't exist.
-
Because some people don't feel like God did create them. I don't happen to be one of them but I have to stick up for my atheist buddies
-
Not sure about you but I had a mother and a father. I wasn't created by an imaginary being.
-
Its that damn free will. I personally beleive that my mommy and daddy created me from having sex, but i could be wrong.
-
Why can't you put your faith in Zeus and the Olympians?
-
Which god?
-
I'm not good enough at lying to myself to pretend to believe in god.
-
Because then they would have to admit that they are not in control. They would have to realize they are just the clay and He is the potter.
-
And, how would people know which of the 1,234,567 gods created them?
-
Because some people like me need facts rather than the lie. Mankind is nothing to trust, facts and pure evidence is.
-
I don't know. Why can't they put faith in the Flying Spaghetti Monster that created them? After all they are both equally REAL.
-
This is a beligerant question. What God? Christian God? No. I put my faith in humanity not some insane idea that is impossible to prove. swear words.
-
Because, as far as I know my mom and my father are NOT gods, or were sane enough as not to claim such nonsense.
-
A. We don't believe he did create us. B. We don't believe in him. C. This being the case we believe it would be like putting our faith in the Tooth Fairy. Why can't YOU put your faith in your god and rest assured that if he should really want our, particular, souls he will let us know?
-
Because I choose not to believe the word of a bunch of dudes who wrote some books about a God that was supposedly using them to write through. I stopped believing in fairy stories around the same time I stopped believing in Santa. I have plenty of faith in the fact that I was created in a hotel room in St. Louis, and I can be damn sure God didn't have anything to do with that night lol.
-
Gee, I guess we're all just being cantankerous, aren't we?
-
Because not everyone shares your faith. And that's OK.
-
What god is that then?
-
it would be irrational.
-
The same reason that I don't have faith that gravity will reverse tomorrow. There is no reason to hold that belief.
-
Because, despite what the fanatics want to believe, I wasn't made by a god. My parents had sex because they loved each other.
-
Believing in an invisible being in the sky who sees, hears, and knows all, and also loves you undyingly. Yet will condem you to a pit of unimaginable agony for all time if you don't worship him and follow all of his laws, (some of which are quite bloodthirsty), and dosen't have a shred of proof of his existence seems a little insane to me.
-
Alternative opinions? ;-)
-
Logic?! ;-)
-
because there's no evidence to support such a claim
-
Because some people find it difficult/impossible to have faith in something they can't see or touch. They rely on logic, and this is not a judgement. Some people are not going to believe no matter what you do or say to try and convince them and that is their right. I have never been one to try and impose my beliefs upon others, though some people will not hesitate to ridicule them, while at the same time , rail against anyone saying anything which goes against what they choose to believe or not to believe.
-
Because they don't believe god so much as exists. What a stupid question.
-
because we are separated from Him. each and every one of us is born into sin and are incomplete, so we are called to find Him and accept Him into our lives and hearts so that we may be complete and reborn without sin in Him. He is the truth and the light and they way and only through Him can we find eternal glory in heaven. we are saved by our faith in Him, which is something people don't understand. faith. by definition, faith is believing in something you don't have physical evidence to prove. if we had hard cold evidence, it wouldn't be faith because we could prove it. so if we did have physical proof, we c/wouldn't have faith and therefor couldn't be saved. Here's an example. if we had a polaroid picture of God, we wouldn't need faith in God, we would have faith in a picture. we would have to believe a picture is real. But because God said he was real, we have to believe in Him that He is the truth. we wouldn't have faith, we would have a picture, and we are saved by faith, not by anything physical. suppose we were saved by a physical object. that would mean you're only saved if you, say, touched a certain object. well, there could only be one, 'cuz if there were more than one, they could only lead to different places. so what about people who live on the other side of the planet and never knew about it? or what if people were killed before they reached it? wouldn't it be too easy for man to seize control of this object? but Gods salvation is open to everyone. no one can stop you from finding it and nothing can take it away. the only way to heaven is by your faith in Him.
-
Because the evidence points to god not being the creator.....people should never use faith as a justifiable excuse for believing something.
-
Are you sure that faith in a 'God' is neccessary a good thing?
-
I origionally had a long answer, but I'm going to keep it very short, and very to the point. Most of the world does not beleive in the same god you do. And most of the religions they adhere to are older than Christianity.
-
That would require there be one.
-
Satan is behind them!
-
I most certainly do.
-
By what I gathered form the atheists, they have no visual or physical evidence. They think it's foolish to beleive in something so mighty and powerful that won't show itself. But who knows if they even tried to communicate with him. I think that since being a Christian requires sacrifice and change of lifestyle people automatically turn away because they simply don't want to change. I.E. If God said do drugs, drink alcohol, and have sex anytime with whoever, i think a lot of the people who don't believe who take part of this behavior would suddenly claim Christianity and how well they are doing.
-
Because it's dangerous to put one's faith into a figment of someone else's imagination.
-
That is a non sequitur. I cannot put faith in something or someone I do not believe in.
-
Because the logical ones don't believe that happy horseshit.
-
If I had any, I probably would, but I was born with an inquiring mind, and no blind faith.
-
“Some say that you must listen carefully to hear the word of god. It’s unfortunate that theists can’t hear the word of atheism over the voices in their heads.” Unknown
-
to have faith in God a person needs to first gain exact knowledge of God, his personality, and his purposes. the apostle paul said in 1timothy 2:4 that is God's "will that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth." a strong faith has to be cultivated and nurtured.
-
Well, I am a Christian, but I remember when I wasn't. It wasn't God was a big turn off to me, but Christians were. What I did see was Jim Jones, etc. Now a days, I watch tv and it makes me cringe. I see "pastors" on TV giving sermons against being in debt, but then 10 minutes after making that statement they turn around and start asking for a "faith offering" and - guess what? You can put it on your credit card! It literally makes me sick to see this. That's not what God is about. I also hate seeing "Christians" yelling at groups that they disagree with. No one ever comes to God whole and complete - shoot, we're never complete...we all have sin in our lives. You come to God as is, and then HE transforms you. He changes your heart. Just my thoughts...FLAME AWAY.
-
(2Th 3:2) And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. Faith is a gift from God.
-
Why are you trying to force me to believe in God?
-
because your god never proved himself to me that he was indeed my maker and never gave me any reason to even have faith in "him" in the first place.
-
Because evolution powned God.
-
because there is a false information about the true meaning of God and what its importance and happens because they are very bad examples of believers that consider themselves are holy and all people are rabish to know god u must think first before acting and try to be a good person that does have blind faith but have reasoned faith thank u all
-
Because people have the right given by god (freewill) to believe whatever they want to. I believe him and those who don't well they don't im not judging even when I offer my opinion!
-
Every child ever born on this planet was the result of male and female human beings having sexual intercourse. No intercourse, no child. Easy. God has nothing to do with it. Don't believe in the virgin birth. It's a story, just like Santa Claus is a story, like the tooth fairy, like Harry Potter. It's a story.
-
Why can't people be created without magic?
-
"Circular Reasoning Award" for Nov. 2008, awarded retroactively.
-
**REDACTED**
-
I put my faith in the government and look where THAT got me.
-
For some people blind faith is not enouth. Evidence that an all creating all powerful deity does not exist. Believers say he is in the trees, the waters, the air, but man does not have any way of knowing whether those things existed before god or he created them...no way to prove!!
-
Because fact and reason out way faith. There are no facts backing a god. The bible is not considered fact. Too many flaws, and its authors thought the world was flat among other things.
-
might have something to do with science and intelligence
-
honestly, they are prideful and unhumble and got to much faith in their ownself....and are very comfortable with how they live their life....the easy way...:)justme
-
Because faith comes from God. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. The gift is faith.
-
LoL...If it were as easy for a person to look out the window and see God smiling and waving at them...what would the need of faith be? God put stumbling blocks all over the place...to give Choice... Becuase its only with choice that devides his people...from those who deny him. That faith...is what saves us. That doubt...(things that go against God) is what we could believe....COULD. But when you accept him...is when a person is saved. To believe in God...but have no faith is pointless. The world is a test...a trial...To see if you are a faithful servant. Are you?...or do you deny him?
-
because he didnt my dads semen created me and science and evolution no god certailly dnt create me never helped me either
-
i don't believe in him. If he did exist, I wouldn't put my faith in an asshole.
-
Because there is no evidence that there IS a god.
-
read EPH 6:12

read EPH 6:12

What "God" are we talking about? there are hundreds of them and most of them claim to be the "creator". Oh i see someone is also a Bertrand Russel fan. Go spaghetti Monster! de·lu·sion: A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness: delusions of persecution.
-
Because, if he exists, he intends to let us find that out for ourselves.
-
If we don't believe in God, we probably don't believe he created us.
-
free will, choice, its up to who what you do, not God.
-
Which god?
-
because people don't worry about god. But they have to learn to have faith to god and thank god what he did for us. We should pray to god and jesus.
-
Because he didn't.
-
Because the God is a lie.
-
There are several hundred thousand gods - which one is the "real" one?
-
Because Satan is alive and encouraging doubt at every opportunity
-
Because if god exists he hides under many costumes and is the driving force behind many mass wars and extermination of life. Because if i was to have faith in something so evil that it creates a world where its word gives justification to the destruction of millions of humans I would likely be yet another mindless zombie marching on the war path religion has layed out over the centuries, with the hope that I could either swell my numbers or oppress and kill any resistance. No thank you I would rather look after my own race and thrive as we can, intelligently and peacefully, and leave god out of it.
-
why should they if they are not happy with the result.lol
-
not all people believe in a god
-
because they are not happy with their lives ?????
-
Because he/she don't want to tell people he/she is real and I mean actually showing up with a toga, sandals and everything.
-
why cant they have faith in them selves....and god is in all of us , isnt that a double blessing.
-
why can´t people put their faiths in the nature that created them?
-
Circular argument. Before you can believe in a "God who created you", you have to have faith. So your question is "Why can't people put their faith in what only faith reveals?".
-
I guess for the same reason they cant put their faith in Father Christmas, Fairys, Goblins, Trolls, the Easter Bunny & his other super friends.
-
Because most people don't know which God created them.
-
Why can't the faithful be courageous enough to ask for actual proof, instead of being pulled into the trap that is blind faith?
-
Because many people have not experienced God first hand. Seeing is believing to many people, especially in a scientific world. Don't worry about non believers God does not care what you believe, only that you live a life of love. And even if you don't live a life of love he/she will still embrace you when you return to him/her after your death. Worry about yourself, your life and your happiness. If you wish to spread your love to the world do so, but do not force your love of God or faith on anyone only show them your love and they will truly know the love of God. God is within all of us. It is our job to let God's light shine, not force another to light their candle of God within.
-
because its not one they created them selfs.
