If you want to be a real yogi, it's a lifestyle, not an hour of excersise per day. I mean, a FULL ON lifestyle. It's kind of scary. Do some pilates.

every other day is a good rule for exercise. do something else inbetween. every other something. a schedule. i often see people doing yoga on the beach. different poses. standing in the rip tide, on one leg. they are not on a schedule. they are just doing it.

If you really want it to be beneficial at least a couple times a week. To -really- feel it benefiting your life. Daily. Do it when it you get up. Do the Sun Salutation when you get up.

Depending upon your natural flexibility and routine, anywhere from three times a week to every day. But if you are doing it daily, you want to rotate exercises to avoid unnecessary soreness or injury.
