  • I've never been a fan of caps. If the amp is well made it'll have banks of caps in them of a generous size. They do work sometimes to give you a little more UMPH. Just a little! I highly doubt you'll tell a difference. Running a thick gauge cable for the power is a given...right. Dont forget that it requires not just a beefy positive but a beefy negative also. "No Shit" you say. We all know about the amps pos. to the batt. And also the large neg. from the amp to the chassis. The soundstream rep showed me this. Sometimes the cars negative battery cable from the post to the chassis can be as small as 10 gauge. If this weakness exists, upgrade it. Your cars entire electrical system will benefit, as well as your amps. Oh yeah... its also cheaper than a cap.
