  • Yes. Hardships are there to teach us to overcome our shortcomings and resolve our Karma. Absolutely.
  • Well not really but that's because I do not believe the universe really keeps track of everything so it can bite the right people on the butt. So live right as you understand it and tell that non-existent karma to eat your shorts.
  • No, I don't think the negative karma can be changed by any means. I may be wrong, but that is my personal belief. Buddha taught that we must become one with the law of karma; that is, surrender to it. You get what you get. However, by leading a deeper spiritual life, you can lessen karma's effect on you personally; Buddha compared it to the difference between dropping a handful of salt into a glass of water and throwing a handful of salt into the Ganges River. Which would taste saltier? It's all about the size of the container.
  • I believe in taking positive actions, like being of service to others - I have faith in that. I don't know if it changes the negative karma, but it sure does provide a good healthy distraction. As far as challenging life's hardships.. well, when life gets tough, I usually rise to the occasion. I've learned that if I don't, then I end up getting very depressed and making things even harder on myself. As I get older, I spend less time thinking about how hard life gets at times and just keep moving along doing what's in front of me.
  • Karma cannot be changed by any human being who is living in the material world.Esp negative karma! Faith or challenging life hardships are wiping out the sanchit karma only.Prarabdha karma can take you beyond many lives and it can put you in a loop. There are ways in which you can defer the action of karma or can transfer it. One is when you become self realized, sanchit karma does not affect you but you can wear off prarabdha sooner. The second is when a realized Guru takes your karma and transfers it to himself or grounds it! The third is the Lord himself pardons it and wipes it clean. Even the Lord when he took the human form had to suffer and wear it out, even when he knew the Father could take it away! Buddha had to undergo a lot of challenges also. Krishna too had to be defeated many times!
  • Sure. Whatever. Now what's for dinner?! ;-)
  • If you seriously want to rid yourself of negative karmic influences then you must be ready to take full responsibility for everything that happens to you in the past, present and future. The others whom you like to blame for hurting you, are merely the circumstances that make your negative karma ripen. Once you are ready, you'll understand the meaning to this following sentence "All the suffering of this world arises from a wrong attitude. The world is neither good or bad. It is only the relation to our ego that makes it seem the one or the other." All the best
  • You can't retroactively change it..it is what it is and you need to pay for your actions in past lives. How well you do at that and whatever other challenges this life brings will determine your future karma in future reincarnations. :) Happy Thursday! :) ((hugs))
  • I am not sure.. I really have no idea..
  • yes! work hard and keep faith!!There is nothing impossible in the world ,till you are on the battleground of life.....
  • This is a very deep and serious question. Karm is karm and must be paid but there are different kinds. There is karma to pay off the sin of Adam and Eve; there is karma to pay of the sins of mankind's history; there is karma to pay off the sins of the world as we live in it now; there is karma to pay off the sins of our ancestors; and, there is karma to pay off the sins that we commit ourselves. Basic law of science; for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. But, what we can do is accept our karma with humility and understanding and work it out. That, combined with good works, grows our spirit toward perfection.
  • these ideologies conflict no? I assume that you're christian, if not my mistake
  • yes, if you make an effort to change/redem your self and understand were you went wronge and what you did.
  • Yeah, ok, good luck on that one. Pray over the bad karma and see if it turns into good karma
  • Every action you take changes your karma, for better or for worse. The only other thing I know of that can override karma is a higher law, like Grace.
