I want to know how we can make our govt stop doing things we dont want them to( bailing out big business, etc... ), voting obviously doesn't work. What is the next step?

It would take a huge coordinated effort & it would be hard to get people motivated. The public has been trained to sit back and let these things happen.Many have become discouraged and apathetic and just give up. Each time a new politician comes into office with promises, we hope things will change. The high-end politicians are immune to laws and they know it. They MAKE the laws! An effort to let the government know the people are unhappy is to put something in writing. Either to put a bill through the Senate, Congress, ot the President. You start at the local level and hope that your representative is willing to stick their neck out. Another of the ways to do this is to get petitions signed. This might get the attention of the politicians to introduce a bill. Each state has a lot of "representatives" that are supposed to work for us. That includes Senators.

What do you mean voting does not work? We have the bailout because more people voted for Obama or democratic congressmen. Had more people voted for McCain or more conservative congressmen, the bailout would have been defeated. The key is not just to vote. Rather, the key is to vote for people who actually support the policies you believe in. And, it also helps to have a majority view as well.
