  • mlm sounds like it could be a pyramid scheme. this is not the best way to go. lead your friend along the right path and tell them to stop.
  • YES. They won't be friends long if you continue in the MLM. MLM's are like money cults, and you use everyone to climb the ladder. Friendship becomes secondary to wealth.
  • Oh, yes, I agree! Any MLM businesses I have been introduced to have been nothing but scams. The base line people are the only ones who ever make any money -- and it is not ususally long-lived. I got suckered in one time by a "friend" who promised me if I paid the $$ to join, I wouldn't have to sell to anyone else -- she would sell to people and put them under me. Well, I never saw a dime -- not even the start-up money I put into it. And, without any return on my money, how could I, in good conscience, try to get my friends to sign up?
  • No, there are good ones and then there are scams. Everything in business is MLM, think about it for a minute. A business owner has employees selling their services to make money for the business. Every dollar that is earned by you the employee is divided up and the owner gets paid. Do your homework and be realistic with your expectations and be careful about selling your friends and family. If it is a good opportunity, then they will ask you about it later on anyway...
  • Sounds good to me.
  • LOL absolutely not. You get sucked in and can't ever get out. My cuzzin sells pampered chef. She's been trying to get out of it for a couple months but the people keep calling her and bugging her.
  • The sad part about these schemes is that the business organizers count on you to provide them with access to your friends. This feels like disloyalty from the point of view of the friend, who must then regard you, the seller, as less trustworthy (if only because you are too gullible to shield them from predators.) Someone who is your friend before the pitch, may not feel like one afterward.
  • I have friends who are VERY successful network marketers. There also have business backgrounds, know successful people and have money. Successful people know how to exploit opportunities to make MORE money. It's no surprise they successfully exploited MLM. It's an uphill battle for the average person. They're surrounded by fear. * Fear that it won't work * Fear they'll embarrass themselves. * Fear they'll loss their investment * Fear of what people will say. Whatever slim chance they may having at making MLM work is eaten away by that fear. It's preordained. I was once involved with this CRAZY MLM. Had something to do with satellite dishes and being able to get all these channels or something. People thought I was crazy. Another one involved saving money with phone cards. No one was interested. You see those cards today in every gas station and convenience store in America. The last one involved video email. Imagine face to face online communication with anyone around the world. They're even developing the same technology for cell phones. Nahhhh! There's nothing wrong with MLM. Most people are afraid to commit to making it work. Instead of blaming THEMSELVES, they blame the industry. Some folks just aren't meant to be wealthy.
  • HAHA I love this question, MLM can work really well for some people if you know how to manipulate the system and if you can get over everyone you know avoiding you for fear of having to sit through yet another sales pitch you can be quite successful.
