Yup,I love open battle.
-
Absolutly I am... ;)
-
Well I never give them out as I feel they are wrong. For me if it does not break the rules it is fine and if it breaks the rules it should be flagged. But yes if I happened to down-rate I would explain why.
-
Indeed I am, although quite often I do not. This is due to not wanting to be abused for doing so, not out of fear, just cos I cant be bothered with some of the idiots that ask the same thing as you and then abuse when they are downrated with a reason
-
Yes. I am woman hear me Roar. Yes I do, if I feel that it is appropriate, some people are just ignorant, and love to piss people off, so there is no point in it.

I give negative points if the answer is factually incorrect. I don't know if I always "announce" -5 or -3 or whatever, but I do note in the comments that the facts are wrong. I try not to get too self righteous about it, because a lot of old wives tales and inaccurate information is out there. I do think the negative ratings help the questioner in his ability to sift a "good and accurate" answer from an answer that might cause him some troubles. I don't negative rate in a category that only calls for an opinion, however. Everyone's opinion is valid.

I never give a negative point as a matter of policy. If I have a disagreement I put it in the answer and subsequently in the comments. The dialog must continue till I convince or get convinced.
-
Everytime.
-
I do a majority of the time. I only give negative points if the information is wrong.
-
Yes, as usually it's when there is a wrong answer, so I tell them what is wrong and if they change it, I take back those neg points.
-
I don't really downrate that often, but I think when I do, it's obvious enough why.
-
I rarely down rate but if I do I say why
-
Its VERY rare I give negative points, but when I do I leave a comment yep. :-)
-
I think I've only given negative points once. And the thing was so blatantly deserving that I didn't bother to comment. But now I see I should have, and if I do it again I will.
