If its 11:30 PM Dec 31 in Texas and 12:30 AM Jan 1st in New York and you have a New York driver's license that expires Jan 2007, does that mean your license has expired?

Where are you at with the license ? What is the time and date ... thats what matters.. If in Texas .. Its 30 minutes till the hanging ....

Point one is that it does not really matter unless you have to show it to somebody. Its expiration really occurs in a computer located in New York, or at that is least set to New York time. In a way your drivers license is not really in your pocket, it is in a computer system. What you have in your pocket is a representation of it. If, for instance you were pulled over at 11:30 in Texas for any reason and asked to ID yourself when they run it through their system it will say that it is expired because in the computer it has.

Face it dude; Even IF it really was 11:30PM, 12/31/06 in Texas,and your NY license expires 1/1/07, you're not gonna make it home on time. Just turn yourself in and throw yourself at the mercy of the court.
