  • Roger Avary (http://www.avary.com), the Oscar-winning co-screenwriter of "Pulp Fiction" (along with Quentin Tarantino) says this on his site: Q: How can I contact your agent? A: So you want me to direct your latest script? Don't send it to me, whatever you do. I'm not allowed (legally) to read it. I'll just send it back unread and we'll all have wasted a bunch of postage or burned a bunch of electrons (did you know that for every megabyte transmitted over the Internet it costs two lumps of coal to power the transmission of data?). Have your agent send it to my agent. That's why he gets my 10%, I'd hate to think I wasn't getting my money's worth.
  • Seems like a catch 22 trying to get anyone to read a screenplay , Agent or producer getting their attention is hard and in a time when the studios only seem to be interested in remaking already remade movies it would seem an original idea is(sadly) seldom at the top of the list, It's hard enough if you live in Hollyweird and can hunt people down and lay your work upon them ,living outside Hollyweird you have to pretty much use the dreaded query letter which for most of us mere mortals is harder to write than a hundred page screenplay as it can and will make or break your work getting read. Heres the thing your heart will lie to you your first gut feeling is almost always right that being said follow you gut feelings i did which was to drive to Hollyweird and blag your way in to studios/production offices letting them know you just drove four hundred miles to drop this off, It worked for me , Then you can start building a relationship with them . Good luck.
