  • They're zinc. During the war they needed to save copper for other things, so they used zinc for pennies. Don't think it's worth all that much but it's an interesting novelty.
  • Decent rolls of '43 cents wholesale for about $10. The 1945 is a plated fake. Steel cents were only minted in 1943 with a few exceedingly rare examples from later years.
  • 1943 is a steel penny. 1945 is either a plated fake or is corroded.
