  • Your kitty is not alone. Just like humans, some animals have their quirks. If you don't have another kitty in your house, or if you do, this is his way of smelling. I know it sounds funny. But just as some people will sit in front of something that smells really good to them, your kitty is inhaling the scent of you or something he likes. I have a cat that does this to my socks. (And only my socks.) Sometimes kitties associate themselves with their human partner in different ways. Licking, smelling, rubbing or biting are the most common. There are extremes to where kitties have been known to urinate or defecate on items that don't belong to it's owner. Or of an individual it thinks is impeding on his territory. Hope this gives you a little insight-happy licking!
