You should tell him that things are on your mind, and you can't focus. If you can't get the right amount of lubrication for sex (via being turned on) it will most certainly hurt a bit. If you talk to him about things on your mind, or let him know, maybe you can increase foreplay/find a way to naturally arouse you. Or, at the least, invest in some good lubrication to help the process along. I also have heard that after birth, there can be rips/tears/scarring in the vagina that have to surgically be fixed in order to make sex pleasant again. It's always possible this is the problem, and because of the pain you're unable to remain in the groove with him. But talking to him about it - and steering clear of any blame at all - should help things out. Together you should find a way to combat the problem.
