  • My first "proper" date was a disaster! Th guy took me out to the movies, but first took me home to meet the family, and they were all very keen to marry me off to this bloke after 2 minutes of meeting me (scary), and then, he thought he knew everything, and he also was overly gentlemanly (that sound weird but I'll explain), he offered to take a tiny bag from me, which i wanted to carry (it had my purse in it), and he would not stop going on about carrying it for me. Silly, but we just didn't gel.
  • It was absolutely terrible. It was with a boy called David Fyford and I was about 10 or 11. We used to play together on the park, and one day he asked me out properly. I didn't like him particularly, but I'd never had a boyfriend so I said yes. We went along to the local 'restaurant' with another couple of ten year olds and all I could think about was whether I should kiss him or not. Turns out we weren't aloud to eat in the restaurant because nobody had remembered to take any money, so we went back to the park and "hung out".. I was still petrified about if the kiss would happen or not, and what I should do ... when David asked me right out if he could kiss me. I wasn't prepared, so I quickly thought of an excuse, and the only thing that entered my ten year old head was that his fingernails were dirty. So I said "No," and he said "why" and I said " because you've got dirty nails," and he said "if I go home and wash them, will you kiss me then?" I said "yes". But while he was gone, I went home, and never spoke to him again.
  • I do. I took her (my father had to drive!!) to a movie and it was OK, except I was abit nervous (age 14). I remember I bought her Red Hots and popcorn and a Coke, and her name was Jane. That is about all I remember. We became friends in school but for some reson we never went on another "date."
  • My first real date was fun. We were dropped off at the cinema by his dad and picked up by my dad. Can't remember what film it was.. spent most of the date trying to work up courage to hold hands.. It all went well and we dated for 2 yrs till it all went wrong..
