What is the average height and shoe size for men and women now?

Everyone is telling me i have big feet but who knows i was looking at this so u guys can tell me. im think im pretty tall. im 5 foot 7 inches and im a size 10. all my friends are short and are size 8-9 so ofcourse i have big feet compared to them but they shouldnt be that big....rite?

im 5 foot 9 and have been since i was 12 and i have worn a 11 since i was 13 i am now 28,my son is 4 and is a junior 12.my sister is only 5 foot 2 and she is a 8 so i think it runs in familys

for men the average height is 5'9-5'11
average shoe size for men is 10-12
for women the average height is 5'4-5'6
average shoe size for womens is 8-9

I'm 5'3''-5'4'' I think 5'4''-5'5'' is the average height for a female. I'm also size 7.5 in shoes. Which also seems to be what a lot of people have (7-8).

Men I don't know.

Well Im a woman and Im 6ft tall and I wear an 11. Its hard to think that the heights for women and men are still that in 2007-2008. Alot more people are alot taller now a days. Especially kids. My daughter is 12 and is the same height as I am now!

No idea about shoe size, but I think the average for men is about 5'10, and for women is about 5'5. I read it somewhere very reputable but I can't remember where, sorry. I'm close to being right at least, I swear!

Of course there are variations according to region, I read somewhere that in Scandinavia (especially Sweden) the average height was a lot more, around 6 feet for men. Must be the Viking blood!

I'd say average is about 5'8 for both, shoe size... I couldn't even begin to guess.

Holy crap! Is that women's or men's size 11? I am guessing women's because men's size 11 for somebody only 5,5" is pretty damn big (but women's size 11 is a men's size 9 1/2 or 10 which for somebody that height is still pretty big!). i am 5,10" and my feet are only men's size 9!

Im female, 5'2 and have size 4 feet.

I am 5'8" and wear a size 8. I think 7-8 is average for women. At least those are the sizes that are always gone first at show sales ;-)

Everyone seems to have 8.5...which is what I am! Can't ever find any shoes my size that I really like! :)

I frequent an online shoe store popular for a specific brand of sneakers and, though I'm female, the sizes are listed in men's and from reading the comments on many of their blogs, it seems that the average MALE shoe size is a 9.5 .....its an extremely popular size and seems to have to be restocked quite often.

I don't know how 'average' size would be officially calculated but from observation 9.5 seems to be the average for guys. Of the (fully grown) guys I've actually known the shoe size of, they've ranged from a size 8 (my dad as well as the only guy in my apt complex I even talk to) up through a size 12 (my 18 year old cousin, but then it could be possible for his feet to still grow a little in the next few years).

Most shoe stores stock men's shoes starting at size 7 (many brands don't make boys sizes which are usually anything smaller than a 7). I've seen online stores that are primarily size 8 and up and then a few (my favorites) where adult sizes start at 4 and go up to as high as a size 15 in some styles.

I doubt average means the median between smallest common & largest common size. It rather would be, in my opinion, the MOST common size. From what I can tell, that seems to be a 9.5 for men.

As for women, (I myself wear a 7.5 in womens) it seems that the 'normal' size for women range from a size 6 up to a 10 or maybe an 11, however most of those women seem to wear between a 6.5 through an 8.5 or 9. As for MOST COMMON women's size, I'm less sure of what that one number may be. I'd have to guess somewhere from 7 - 8. If we were calculating the median size using the 'normal' RANGE of women's sizes, it would be more like an 8.5, but since women's shoes sell out fastest in sizes 6.5 - 7.5 the median is not necessarily the average.

Average men are about 5'10" with a 10.5 mens shoe.
Average women are about 5'4.5" with an 8 womens shoe.

If you want to know what shoe size is average for your height, subtract a half size for every inch below the norm and add a half size for every inch above it.

Ex. 5'9" men = 10 mens shoe.
5'10" men = 10.5 mens shoe.
5'11" men = 11 mens shoe etc.

I'm 5"1 with size 5 ... basically all my friends are a good bit taller than me but we're all around 5 and 6 in shoe size... is that weird?
