try putting kitchen paper or a brown paper bag over the wax and ironing it. it works on carpets.

I think staffie is on the right track...the idea is to melt the wax and then to absorb it into the paper. It may take more than one attempt tho. Good luck!

steamer...that should work in melting wax allowing it to come off easier

Scape off as much as you can with a blunt blade.Then place a piece of plain white paper over the remaining residue.Then run a warm iron over the paper and the remaining wax will be soaked up by the paper.Then wash your trousers as normal.
