I have a 1996 jeep grad cherokee limited, i just changed the alt, batt, and belt, now on accaison the volt meeter drops to 0, and the check batt warning comes on, there is no noticable drop in volts and when restarted everything is fine. any ideas?

    If all of your connections are tight, you may have a defective alternator. The '96 Cherokees (And almost any post 1984 vehicle)has an internal regulator. They do go bad very easily. Take it back to where you got it and have them bench test it. Not for 30 seconds, either. Have them test it for a few minutes, stop and do it again....

    You say that there is no drop in volts, but the volmeter goes to 0? Since you just changed the belt, it could be slipping. Try and re-tension it.
