A labrador or a gold retriever. I don't think that their good nature's can be beat. Their good reputation with small children and small animals is known around the world.

I think he should get an American Bulldog type dog named Spike! And I especially think that since I just read that he plans to get a big rambunctious dog of some sort. There are American Bulldog rescues, and I personally have had some nice American Bulldog crosses.
