  • Did you change the oil filter when you changed the Oil, this is a must do,if you did, it looks your Oil Pump has failed, given the age of your vehicle this is highly likely,its not an expensive job,its just about the messiest job you can do on your truck, but straight forward enough, you can buy Oil Pump kits from any good Autostore. If you do upgrade to a High output pump,it will be like a new heart for your motor. Last and most important, make sure that it is a genuine Chevy made in USA oil pump, the cheaper imports actually have a better finish, but its just gloss, the material used is not up to the task. Don't mean to waffle on but I have used chevy powered vehicles in the Tropics and upgraded the pumps to high output,these were predominantly small block engines and we never had mechanical engine failures due to oil problems.   • I just had the same thing happen to my 1993 tahoe 350 4wd a couple days ago...Its your oil pump.
