Is the Pope Catholic?
-
Only taking place there for I'm mute!

Yes. Whenever I have a disagreement over a point being made. I always start by asking for further clarifications on the point and then by pointing out the holes in the argument being made. I have found this results in a more constructive discussion on the matter and ends up to the satisfaction of all present.

Yes, I do speak up in a meeting. I believe I have a purpose to be present at the meeting to play my part so that the meeting can achieve its purpose for the agenda set before us.
-
Absolutely. If they didn't want my opinion they shouldn't have ask me there.

I wouldn't see any point attending if I didn't.

Absolutely. Every group is different. Some follow Robert's Rules of Order. Some are pretty loose or informal. Most at a minimum have an agenda. It varies a LOT at meetings - usually depending on who's holding the gavel or is in charge - re: everyone having their say - keeping things moving and not bogged down - getting things talked about but also decisions made - making sure no one person dominates discussion while all the others are silent - etc. People skills. For my part? If I'm interested in that group and travel out to a meeting, then why just sit there? Yes, I'll participate and hope others do too. Sometimes the very best solutions aren't even on the table til a few folks all talk and that "new thing" evolves out of those interactions & group brainstorming.
