It makes sense that the back windshield will be dryer than the front. Thinking about the slope of the glass and the direction of travel, the front windshield is ploughing through the rain, picking up more of it than if the car was standing still. It's hard to visualise but in a way it's similar to the doppler effect. I'm sure there's a way to illustrate this visually, maybe by dropping marbles down a shallow slope and moving a barrier across the plane in different directions and orientations.

Ram effect. The passage of your car through the air is the same as rain being driven against one wall of your house by a strong wind, leaving the opposite (leeward) wall dry.
