Nothing!!It was just a scare tactic. It's no good to use that phrase with, especially younger children. Deal with the situation there and then instead of making the other parent look like the boogy man!

Nothing :) My wife never said that to our kids or the other way around. Parents need to learn to handle it on the spot. If we wait, it is not effective. CHUCKLE - yet true.

Nothing would happen - tho' the words alone had the effect of making us scared of our father and in later years my mother regretted saying them. As a parent I was always careful to never use those words because of the effect. P.S We get on good with our Dad now!

You see, my mother could not use that on my brother and I. My dad left when I was born, and was in and out of jail until I was seven. That was when he got locked up for life on a murder conviction.

You never knew with my dad, sometimes he'd laugh at you, sometimes he'd spank you, sometimes he wouldn't even look at you, sometimes he'd fly off the deep end with a huge neverending lecture and sometimes he'd just change the subject. We were living on the edge! LOL

Usually nothing, unless it was really bad...Dad would usually say to my mom "What do you want me to do"?, that was hours ago".....
