  • It's been a while since I've read the book, but I think it's important because it teaches us to look beyond the mundane reality and treasure the value of intangible experiences that broaden our worldview, such as experiencing love and beauty. I don't think this book is unsuitable for children in any way. According to child psychology, children learn best in the zone of proximal learning. Basically, this means that they are challenged by a task that's slightly above their skill level, but they can complete it with an adult's help. A teacher or parent could read the book with a child and talk to them about. Even if they're not quite capable of grasping it yet, they can still process it in their subconscious minds and come back to it later. As an adult, I've re-read favorite books from my childhood, and I have learned a lot from the experience because now I can articulate why they spoke to me as a child.
