Ummm Google haha. 1 degree celsius to fahrenheit

Write it down and read it over and over and over, OR you can put it on sticky notes and put them everywhere.

When I convert from C to F I double the C, subtract 10% of that, and then add 32 to the remainder. 100º C: 100X2=200, 200-20=180, 180+32=212.

°F to °C -32 * 5 / 9 °C to °F *9 / 5 + 32 eg:40°F; 40 - 32 = 8 * 5 = 40/9 = 4.5°C(approx.) thats the formula, I don't know a mnemonic to help remember it sorry, but I do know that nokia phones have a built in converter application.

all ya gotta know is 9/5 and the freezing point of water in °C and °F and which is bigger. You can easily reason it out from there. 9/5 is 9/5....or 5/9 if you're converting the other way. Celcius degrees are bigger than Farenheit degrees. Water freezes at 0°C and 32°F (assuming STP). If you know the above (which I believe is common knowledge), then you can very simply calculate the rest. What part are you unable to memorize? 5/9? 32°F 0°C 9/5 or that Celcius degrees are "bigger" than Farenheit degrees? That's all you need...oh, and brain cells that still work.

A visiting professor from Karlsrue Germany, at GA Tech, back in the "80's suggested using 2/1 and 1/2, rather than 5/9 and 9/5 ....when figuring tepmerature for outdoor activities and such, Much faster and easier!! jim
