Simply making a statement does not make it true. Catholics believe the desire for God is written in the human heart, because each person is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw each person to himself. Freud said we will never be rid of religion until we overcome our fear of death, and he was right. Therefore the earth will become a cloud of poisonous gas before we abandon gods. "We are all born Atheist why change that?" It seems because what is real and apparent isn't good enough. Death is just too horrible and mysterious, and living forever in a fantasy land sounds much better. It's apparent to me that the human nature of greed fuels this fantasy, and a life of conditioning leads us to believe outrageous claims. "God died on the cross in human form to make up for the sins of humanity, through the power of the Holy Spirit..." et cetera. Logic like this isn't accepted anywhere outside of religion.

Because people have different interpretation of reality.

We're all born completely ignorant of any subject. We aren't born "atheist" which means disbelieving in God. We are born ignorant of God...and just about everything else. Why change THAT? Because who wants to be ignorant forever.

Perhaps this has been what you had been told or taught. The issue is is that if you really believe that in which I hope you don't, that another person or persons will step in to tell you what instead, to believe. I ask that you seek nothing but the truth using your own freewill.

Because life sucks for most people. They are stupid, angry and misinformed. These people also lack self motivation. God fixes all of that. Its easier to just say "because god wanted it that way" Examples: Why do some people lack critical thinking skills? Why was i born with one arm? Why should I invade a country half way around the world and kill innocent people? Why should i do everything mom and dad tells me rather then thinking for myself? Why do I have cancer? and who are those people protesting outside the restaurant i always eat at? After a few years, that answer gets too boring and we do some digging and we come back with better questions, soo they came up with stories to explain WHY god wants it that way. After you read these stores and repeat them about a thousand times and use them as a reference for every day events its hard to question anything. Then you become a docile worker with motivation only to follow orders. If something sucks, you don't just think "its because god wanted it that way" you think well it's because the other guy (who's a non believer) complaining is the reason why it suck. If only he could shut up, and pretend with me that everything is OK (as it should be), then it would be ok. Atheist thinking creates questions that better social balance from the ground up. It threatens pyramid structures like religion and right wing governments that only want obedience and silence from there workers.

It's a very long and complicated answer, but to try and paraphrase: People are afraid of the unknown and they crave that warm & fuzzy feeling of belonging and purpose. So they invent father like super figures to guide and protect them and give them meaning to their existence. POOF! god or more correctly religion(s) * Most people can't handle the thought of facing life by themselves without a crutch.

We were also all born with a complete need for others to take care of us and blissful ignorance of everything down to what not to touch, up until a point in our lives, and the later sometimes lingers awhile.
