  • Enough so that you are not mooching just because its "free". If they are rich, show appreciation anyway you can. If they are average joe's, make sure you have enough so that they want you to come back.
  • that kind of depends on whether your friends are feeding you or not. if you are buying your own food, you should plan $40-50 a week for food (not including going out to eat). if you are driving around, gas can be anywhere between $2-$3/gallon depending on where in florida you'll be. if you are on the beach, you will suddenly crave beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, bogie boards, and maybe even a surf board. i'd plan about $100-$150 in random beach gear (not including surf board). also if you are on the beach, you may want to rent a sailboat, or go wind surfing, or something like that, so you may want some cash for rentals. there's tons of other stuff in florida depending on where you are. if you tell me the general area you'll be staying in i might be able to provide a little more specific info.
  • $100/day if you plan to actually vacation instead of "living there while not working"
  • I would plan on $100 to $150 a week, minimum. Figure money for meals (even if you're eating with them every day, it would be nice to take them out to eat a few times to show your appreciation), and for admission to anything you plan to visit (you don't want to "mooch"). Also, for your personal things (toiletries, cigarettes if you smoke, souvenirs you might want to buy, phone calls, etc.) Don't forget, if they are driving you around, you'll want to chip in for gas, etc. You want to not be a burden on your friends.
  • All of it.
