Not a racist answer: My experience is that Mexicans do the job cheaper, but not better. In fact, when I've had to deal with them the work has been subpar. I guess the old adage is true -- you get what you pay for. To clarify, I've NEVER contracted illegal aliens for anything, BUT some contractors that I've hired have provided what appears to be illegal labor. If not illegal, it was certainly Mexican.

That's because they want to excel at the high-paying, executive-type, plush jobs they have come here to steal from the not Xenophobe, hard working, open-minded Americans
-
because its cheaper and they do better job, and its true...[not a racist answer] but when u hire a mexican to do some kind of yard work you will spend less money and get better job, or if you hire a caucasian to do a yard work, they would do poorly and charge DOUBLE the amount...i've seen it! but in construction, the caucasian charged a bunch and did a poorly job on the renovation, but when we hired a mexican to do construction it was wayyyy cheaper and it was a better quality....

I don't know, but I will answer in a broad way, divorced from the entire ethnicity question: Most people who do a better job do so because: A) They work harder. B) They are more careful. C) They do so because they have a higher work ethic AND ... D) They are in touch with goals they are trying to accomplish and are willing to work towards incrementally.

First, how did you come up with this conclusion? Have you done any sort of study to each this conclusion. Second, if you did do such a study, did you look at anything other than race? For example, the legal worker/company has to pay for: 1) income taxes, 2) a livable wage, 3) workers comp insurance, 4) disability insurance, and 5) business insurance. Thus, the homeowner who spends $200 per month for yard care is going to get a better job for their money by hiring an illegal worker than a legal one. This is best understood by looking at the inverse situation. Why is it that Ford cars at $15k price range are lower quality than a $15k foreign car? Well, because even if the cost of materials is the same in both countries, the cost of labor in America is higher. Thus, Ford has to cut the quality in order to make a car in a similar price point.

It all boils down to a strong work ethic. Let's face it. A lot of Americans are lazy because they have had it relatively easy for their entire life. A lot of people know that they can be as big a loser as they want because they can always fall back on daddy's money. When someone comes from a poor but hard working family they realize that it is up to themselves to sink or swim. I have a relative who is self employed. He is a concrete finisher by trade. He once hired a couple of guys who recently came here (legally) from Mexico. Not long after he had hired them their car broke down. The next day they showed up for work on time. They had carried all their tools about 2 miles as they walked to work. How many natural born Americans would do that?
-
a call to the bbb is much more devastating to these companies and Mexicans have an admirable work ethic

I have employed many people to do my yard work, and I have found them all good workers, no matter what ethnic group they belonged to. I am interested in where you found your information? Do you have a study or other reference you can direct me to to verify it?

maybe they care about how well they do there job. so the client will be stedy customer

Um, do you know what a racist question is? Cause I don't think I could ask one better than this one right here. Race is defined as "A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the Mexican race" Therefore, by the very definiton of the word, your question is racist. Don't sweat it, I am not going to boycott you down at the sub shop tomorrow but own your question. Don't let the question own you. Oh and by the way, Mexico has a very varied landscape. You know there is also a jungle that inhabits Mexico? Don't get your info from all those Speedy Gonzales cartoons that pollute your mind.

No, this is odd: Your knowledge of Mexican flora is as deficient as your ability to determine a racist question.

"Normal" caucasian people?

Maybe they take more pride in a job well done. Most of the Mexicans I know are very hard working and take the time to do whatever they are doing correctly.

Many others have answered the 'do better' part, so I will address the last part of your question. It's called 'learning' - just because you weren't exposed to something in your younger years, that does not mean that you cannot learn how to do it later. If you were born in Kansas, does that mean that if you move to California in your teens, you cannot learn to surf? Of course not. A skill can be developed at any time in your life, not just in your youth.

it's not so hard to figure out they can stand the heat better especially in florida, california, etc. therefore they cocentrate on their work more

I don't think it's Mexicans that are better (and not all "Hispanic" workers are Mexican) it's anyone who wants to have a better life. I've seen homeless people (who wanted to have a house to sleep in) work harder than people most people work just so they could get some food or money. I've seen kids stuck in poverty (who were tired of it) who worked harder than rich kids. So any group who wants to have a better life tends to work twice as hard. Also, Americans have become lazy. We're use to paying someone else to fix something when it messes up or goes wrong. Most Americans haven't worked a hard day in their life (menaing labor in the heat throughout the whole day), which is understandable. But take someone who has spent all day outside working in the heat for less money and put them in a country where people arelazy, cut corners, and whine about the smallest things (or small to them) then it's a peice of cake.

I appreciate people of Latin America that do migrant work and especially those that seek legal citizenship. There are quite a few of my fellow caucasians that are sleeping through the American Dream just because they can. Look up the term relative deprivation and that is my answer for this question. Relative deprivation is like having to wear off-brand shoes to Beverly Hills High School...and then compare that emotional suffering to a child with worms in his eyes in Africa because there is not enough grass (much less wood) to build a fire with to boil water to make it safe to drink. Latino labor is like that. Landscaping, cutting grass, demolition, waitingon concrete trucks to deliver a concrete pour for one side of the street...these are all labor-intensive jobs. But in Mexico, by contrast, I have personally seen 10 or so men on their hands and knees making concrete by squiching water and cement together with their hands and then troweling it out one pad at a time. Why do people that enter this country seem like they work harder and yeild better results? Because often a bad day HERE is the best day THERE financially per what you put out to get paid.
