Skeet shooting is the poor cousin to trap shooting. You want a heavy break in the middle breech loader, not one of those junky semi-automatics.

Beretta makes fine shotguns for skeet or sporting clays. If you prefer a semi auto, the .12 gauge model 391 is an excellent shotgun. In an over under, the model 682 Gold is an excellent and well balanced shotgun. Browning also makes a fine over under. Specifically the Citori and Cynergy models. You should look at both and get the feel for both and see which one fits YOU the best and see which feels the best in your hands.

What ever gun you are comfortable with, auto, side by side, over under or single shot. They have sheet chokes son that no problem. I would use a 12 ga. for starting out because of more shoe, the smaller gauges are for better shooters. Have fun and practice practice practice.
