Why don't punk fans and heavy metal fans get along?

Punk fans are typically anti-government and pro anarchy.. Heavy Metal fans are typically pro-war pro-government pro-Bush macho military adrenaline heads...

You'd think that considering the two genres are like either cousins or brothers there would be more comraderie.

Because Heavy Metal fans like an your face strong sound riffs while punk rock is a long drawn out sound with heavy singing. Punk rockers are real anti government and strangely enough Heavy Metal guys are more liberal than you might think. I haven't seen a heavy metal band that is pro government and pro war (but most of their music is involved with religion, war and the big brother government) At least thats my opinion.
