Feel free to award points to any answer/question you like, by giving points you are giving someone acknowledgement.
-
I pretty much always do that because I'm grateful that people actually took the time to answer me.
-
Yes. It is a nice way to acknowledge that somebody took the time to answer your question.
-
It is up to you...the points are yours to give...if it feels okay go for it...a few points for you!
-
I don't generally award full points except for very good ones. But I generally give 5 for answers and 5(that's max I can) for questions. It depends on people. There are many good people who always award me the maximum whenever I answer them. But I don't do the same(Am I selfish??!!)

For some it is and for some it isn't. I can say that whatever you do becomes noticed because people see patterns in how people behave. On a personal bases I feel it takes points to gain points and although points are not the most important thing people do react positive or negative by the points they do receive.

It is a nice practice. And sometimes the comments can lead to getting to know other ABers better.
