Depends on the cheese. Most American cheese is best described as "inoffensive" and at room temperature aspires to the lofty heights of "mildly inoffensive." Even though adding jalapeno adds flavor it still doesn't make good cheese. But if you get a good cheese.. Danish Blue, Stilton, Farmhouse Cheddar (extra sharp isn't the same at all) - well the list is endless - served room temperature it will rattle your teeth and shake you warmly by the throat as it goes down and you'll know you've really eaten some cheese
