Unfortunately, when a dog or cat has a urinary tract infection once, the chances are high that there will be another infection. One of the best ways of preventing recurrence is, alas, the kind of premium food your vet is selling you. I know it is expensive, but it means a world of difference to the dog. And, if you factor in the infections he won't get, and the cost of medication and vet visits he won't have to make, the discomfort he won't feel and the cleaning you won't have to do, then the food is not as expensive as you think! -
