Landowners who were not aristocracy. For example, in 'Pride & Prejudice', the Bennet family and the Darcy family were landed gentry. The Binlgeys were not as they didn't own land, in spite of their wealth.

Yes, "gentry" were called, in England, people of a designated class, or "aristocracy", if you will. They were members of the nobility.
