Do you think the macho man, alpha male, mentality is a little played out? Do women really like such narrow minded, old fashioned, biased kind of guys? I thought the evolution of society would have dealt with these types by now.

Define narrow minded. I see many self righteous people on this site who think their view is so right. The reality is that they are hypocrites because they are just like those they claim to be against. As far as the macho man part, my experience is that girls like strong confident men. That does not go hand in hand with narrow-mindedness.

The macho man has existed as long as the human race, it won't go away ever. Just like the upper and lower classes. Middle classes come and go, the other two are constants.

Lots of women like them. Visit any High School or College and watch the athletes get the prettiest dates and see the females flock to them. Some of these males may be real nasty b*****s but until they prove it, they have the attention of the females.

Well I think that there is a balance. You have to know when you need to be an assertive male or just a person for that matter. You shouldn't be a pushover though. I have a tough side but rarely show it cause I have seen my mom and girls that are friends get hurt by an insensetive ass. But at the same time. These same women that say that they want a nice guy usually treat the nice guys like shit and end up going back to the assholes. Go figure!

What makes you think society has evolved? We are still killing each other, and now we're killing our unborn (legally). Were destroying our environment and wiping out many animal species.We're overpopulating the world with not enough resources to meet that need. You call this "evolving"? That doesn't relate to your question at all. The type of person you describe is just one of many types of personalities that there are.

I kind of prefer intellectual "Know it all" types. As long as they actually do know it all and they are above only believing they do without reason or understanding into why they might not... I like guys that are so smart... they are a bit nutty because of it. I think that Sir Issac Newton and Sir John Wilmot, were two of the sexiest men that ever lived. Well... them and Cat stevens.

As for the other answer. Macho is only good if also intelligent and decent enough to know not to throw it around just because they can. Like Sean Connery for instance, who actually has no problem what so ever slapping his wife and bragging about it unapologetically on national television. Macho men are often A=holes, but not all the time.

I am not sure that society has evolved to such utter perfection. When it does, people may actually, for real, know it all, but they will be humble enough to deny it. :)

You mean the person who bases elevated intellectual ability on gender? Yep, I do. Although there are some women guilty of that as well, I guess. Yes, I find them very attractive. Many of them are not narrow minded at all. A guy needs to be able to protect me against anybody. If he didn't have a little of that mentality, I would doubt his ability to keep me safe.

There is also Know-it-all women too. And they need to be dealt with. I dont think there is more know it all men than women, there is an equal amount. And that mentality is ok in moderation. Theres nothing wrong with trying to share intelligence.

Society hasn't evolved it has devolved. Stupid people are breeding at a much higher rate than intelligent ones. Notice that reality TV is the most popular thing on TV rather than something intellectual.
