  • Alcohol shouldn't be a problem but the smoking will be.
  • Your piercer should have given you a care packet! Wow, go to someone else if they didn't. Are they through the muscle or just between them? Only eat soft foods, you can drink, i'd recommend not through a small straw because it could get stuck on the barbell and that HURTS! Use a big straw. Drinking through a straw is so much easier and better. Your tongue is going to swell, and you will have to re-learn how to talk. There will be a mucousy looking substance that comes from it for the first few days. Its just your mouth's version of a scab. • smoking should b 2/3 days later alchoal is a week food doesnt really matter except spicy food should be avoided for a week and acidic foods (fruit for example) eat what you can i could only manage toast really for about a week i lived on the stuff! i had to take really small bites and had to swallw it practicly whole. beans is a good thing to eat you should eat soft creamy ice cream to help reduce the swelling it needs to be cleaned twice a day (at least) using natural salt water - boiled then left to cool and with a anti bacterial mouth wash after eating after 14-18 days the swelling would be nearly gone and you will need to change the bar from the long 1 (prob 18mil) to a smaller 1 (10-12mil) the piercer should have given you this in the price. if not plz plz go to a different parlor and ask them for advice or any worries you have and for the smaller bar you should avoid plastic balls for 4 months or so
