Your poo.

That mass is most likely converted into energy, as described by Einstein's equation E=mc^2. Laws of physics tell us that mass and energy cannot be created nor destroyed, but can be converted into different forms.
-
Most of it goes in the toilet. The energy stored as body fat (and even muscle mass, as well) is used as fuel for the body. Your body converts it to energy, and the leftover waste is expelled.

I only lose it for a short amount of time....then I turn around in the mirror and find it on my butt.

You exhale it. It starts out as fat, which is composed of carbon, hydrogen, and water. Whenit leaves your fat cells and is burned for energy, it burns into carbon dioxide and water vapor, both of which are exhaled. You could say that your kidneys extract and excrete part of the water, but it's simpler just to say you exhale, since air enters your lungs at the ambient humidity--anywhere from 13% to 100% depending on the season and location--but leaves them at 100% humidity.

I think it hides out in the refrigerator, waiting for that midnight snack urge to attack?
