Are you able to love an adoptive child as much as your own children?

Yes, otherwise why would you adopt? When I married my last wife she brought two very young children into the relationship and we had together two more, when she left me with my best mate she also left behind the children from her first marriage and took ours with her. I continued to love and care for those two children into adulthood and never differentiated between them and my natural blood children :o)

It's a special kind of love that you choose to give. That child is dependant upon you and it's a decision you conciously made to adopt that child.

I suppose you could love it, to an extent. Why else would you adopt it? Though because it's adopted and not from your own gene pool, you always have the option of taking it back to the orphanage for a refund.
