I think all trees are good. However, in Asia, some cultures say that ghosts and spirits appear under weeping willow trees.

In Druidry they're not. The Oak is actually a very sacred tree. Trees themselves were never evil. They are part of the Mother. The spirits and fairies that live in them... that can be another story.

I've heard a theory of negative and positive creatures. For example, it explained the cat's habits like sitting beside tv, computers, choosing particularly negative geomagnetic places, place of pain and interest in suffering by their involuntary attraction to the negativity. In oppose to the dogs, who are totally opposite and they can't even hide it. Thees also differ in this manner. Birch tree is known by it's ability to bring you good mood and energy, while hugging elm tree would soak up your bad thoughts and headache. I believe in it, because birch tree forest is always festive, bright and happy. While rainforest is not too pleasant place to visit, because it is full of parasite plants, that live and grow at the other plant's expence, feeding on them... Possibly people have been observing trees for hundreds of centuries, and were able to make some conclusions taking in consideration their ability to communicate with the environment.

Druid and pagan beliefs included all three of those trees as a basis of worship, and were supposed to have great magical properties for example oak is the tree of wisdom ect. Thus they were condemned by the Catholic clergy for being associated with these characteristics and the beliefs of these "evil" people and their cultures. Go figure.

In Celtic belief: the Elm is associated with burials. Found near burial mounds and the wood was also used for coffins. The Oak is associated with protection, strength and plenty. The Willow is associated with enchantment and mystery. None of them are evil but christianity tried to wipe out the old beleifs by turning the meanings into 'evil'. And this has been passed down and expanded on with each generation, until there are few left who know or understand the old meanings.
