My XD Card seems to be corrupted. I had some problems with it & after formating it in the camera I formated it using the PC. It now is un-recognisable on any computer and when i put it in any olympus camera it say pwr off/format - press format -card error

I have unfortunetly bought a brand new card about a month ago to replace my old one which became corrupted. After a month this one has started to cause problems. When i turn the camera on it intermitently says power off or format card. When i press format card it then has error saying CARD ERROR like the previous card! It eventually started to work again but i had this same problem with my old card and it eventually became completely unusuable. I am worried the same is going to happen again. Why is this happening and how do i resolve it. I guess i should return it while it is still under warranty but what happens if theis keeps happening? thanks Edit: I have always formated the card using the camera after transfering the images.

If the memory card is not recognized in the PC or it is impossible to access the data on it, the controller on the card is damaged. There is only one way to get the data back, unsolder memory chips and directly access their raw data with a programable chip reader. Software can't help, that is a physical damage!
