  • But what about people who are injured? Or people that aren't able to work due to a disability, like Autism? Should we just hope that people help them? Or should we set up a system to make sure they're cared for?
  • I think it's a good thing, but I do hope it doesn't kill whatever little motivation that some people have to look out for themselves. :/
  • do you really think all people who didnt get a degree are lazy? do you not think there might possibly be different circumstances other than ``laziness``
  • Not in the slightest. I believe in the power of a capitalist nation, not a socialist one. That's just my opinion.
  • Personally, I don't think Obama is giving away freebies. There is always a needs assessment for this sort of thing. Sometimes people abuse the system and get our tax dollars, but I have also seen many instances of people who couldn't work and had no way to eat.
  • I agree with your opinion myself. No I don't agree with taking from the rich and giving to the poor. I believe in helping people that truly need help. I always say too though that you can't help someone that won't help themselves. A person that has finished school and worked hard in college to earn a degree and a good paying job does deserve to have the benefits from it. They don't deserve to have to give their hard working money away to someone they don't even know that has never even had a job.
  • Barack Obama SAID AND I QUOTE YESTERDAY HE IS NOT TRYING TO GIVE MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO DON'T DESERVE IT. HE'S TRYING TO GIVE IT TO THE HARD WORKING MIDDLE CLASS WHO'S STRUGGLING. Quit make up claims and overblowing his agenda and to me it is very needed for the rich to abdicate their money to the poor people they exploit so our economy can be restablize. Please folks get your facts straight.
  • You said "ppl who were lazy and didn't get a degree".. you are assuming that anyone who doesn't have a college degree is lazy. You need to grow up. Not all of us have $50,000 a year to go to college doesn't mean we are lazy. What about those who work 40-60 hours a week and will literally starve without assistance from "rich people".. I guess they are lazy too. People like you LOVE to judge when you have no idea what you are talking about. I do understand not wanting to support someone who REFUSES to work and help themselves but you make it sound like that anyone who wants a degree can get one. Just because you have a college degree today means squat..I know people with college degrees who work minimum wage jobs cause they can't find a job. So u are not supposed to help them? you have NO IDEA at all how real life works and you need to find out SOON because Karma is real and one day you will be on the receiving end of needing help and nobody will want to help you.
  • Well, do you think it was right that Bush took money from the poor and middle class and gave it to the rich to bail them out of the disaster they created? Rich people use more of the commons than poor people, so the rich should pay more than the average person...
  • If everyone had degrees the unemployment rate would still be the same!
  • You don't even sound literate enough to have an opinion on this subject. You don't use a comma and a period consecutively right after each other, and you don't have to capitalize the guys entire name. Not to mention the fact that many people with degrees in computer sciences, philosophy, and education are without a job and relatively poor. Do you understand what rich is? Rich isn't making 100K, or 200K, or 70K... rich is the CEO's and board members of corporations that walk away with $22,000,000,000,000 every year while laying off 50,000 employees. Imagine that!
  • I would not say he is taking money from the rich and giving to the poor. They have NEVER payed their fair share in taxes and contribute little to society. It is the middle class and poor that work hard, pay more taxes and barely make it in life.
  • Why not? They obviously don't need the money because we're not hearing anyone whining. And where else would he get the money to do so? Our country's tapped.
  • I think that he should actually give more to the rich so they have to pay for the taxes and that goes to the poor and everybody is happy.
  • No. If I wanted to live in a socialist country, I'd move to Europe. I'd like to keep the fruits of my hard labor. I've worked for it and I deserve it. If I WANT to give charity to those I feel deserve it, I will. It's mine and I should be able to spend it as I want. This whole idea of "their fair share" is stupid. What did they do to deserve a piece of MY pie?
  • I have been at my shop since out of highschool.17 years. No degree but make over 20 bucks an hour.I work with wood moulders. My wife just got laid off testing circut boards. Our shop laid off 3 and is going to lay off another soon.If my shop slows any more,we will have a huge problem. But we were doing great without a degree untill things started slowing down.We will get through this with out a degree as well.We worked for experience hands on and became successfull. Those skills will cary us through.
