  • Since you are coming from a Mac, I'm assuming that you are coming out of your Mac, and itunes, stereo. Unless you have optical out, and you're using DVD audio from the Mac's DVD drive, then it is pointless to hook it up surround. Otherwise, if it is a cheaper system and doesn't have an analyzer mic, then try to keep your speakers equidistant from your listening position. I mean measure it. If your center channel is highs only, then you need to calculate and slightly offset, closer, to compensate for delay. Once again, this is for surround setup only. If you come out of the Mac stereo, this makes no difference.
