Social norms have nothing to do with it. What has everything to do with it is the mistaken idea of a certain minority that they can legislate morality and impose their pseudo-morality on the majority

It doesn't, social norms only decide how the laws of society at the time in question will treat it. Right and wrong are subjective and always will be.

It's all a matter of definition, laws, and what is accepted. Before abortion was legal, it wasn't accepted,and was considered wrong. It was still used, but it was taboo and secret. It wasn't the "norm". Today it is just the opposite. It is part of the norm of modern society that disregards human life. It is even accepted by young girls to use abortion even though birth control is available!
