If the comment thread is about the subject, I'm thrilled that people are talking about it, that it stimulated that much thought. If it's just friends finding each other and chatting, then I'm happy they felt comfortable enough to stay and linger together.

in general, i really appreciate and enjoy long, indepth discussions generated by my questions or answers. but if the conversations go off a total tangent and people start going into small talk that goes on and on and on and on for days and weeks, i start thinking... get a room already. how about iming instead? :D
