I just noticed this too, and was about to ask the same question, but the site led me to your question! Very strange to me as well.

If I remember correctly, his brother sent an email to another ABer to let her know Blank passed away. Maybe Blank gave his password to his brother or another family member. Then again, if we need valid email addresses to access our AB account, I wonder if Blank's email is still in service to allow someone to sign in with his ID? Very strange indeed.
