  • I think we spend our lives comparing: our figures, our strength, our wealth, the tallest this and the shortest that. I think it is a natural reaction.
  • That was the biggest bomb that had a casualty count and quantity of destruction directly tied to it. Saying an explosion was 10 times larger than it, brings to mind 10 times the amount of casualties and 10 times the amount of destruction.
  • It's one of the few big explosions that people can relate to. We've all seen pictures of A-bomb blasts, so now we have a frame of reference. We could compare everything to the Tunguska blast of 1908, but I doubt too many people would recognize it. :-) (Brings to mind one of my favorite lines from Ghostbusters: "You're a very fortunate man, Mr. Tully. You've been part of the biggest interdimensional crossrip since the Tunguska blast of 1909!") Actually, the movie screwed up the date.
  • I guess because it was a terrible moment for that country and greatly remebered.
  • Why is every girl (or guy) you've ever loved compared to your first... because they were the first. Do you remember the 1st manned moon flight? Yes. Do you remember the 3rd one... probably not. The 1st stays in your memory.
  • idk what do you think(probably because it was supposedly the biggest explosion)
