I could be a wiseguy and just say "it's in the engine", but I'll bet you already figured that much out. Most GM V6's, which is what I'm guessing is in your Buick, have the camshaft in the engine block. Look at the engine from the front, see where the fan/water pump is? Picture the camshaft being roughly located behind the fan/water pump. It runs the entire length of the engine. Now it's possible that you've got an overhead cam engine (and I'm showing myself to be a dinosaur). Overhead cam engines have the camshaft(s) underneath the valve cover(s). Take the valve cover off and it'll be there, smiling back at you in it's own bumpy way. ;)
