If it has been surveyed in the past the last survey could have put marker pins in the ground check if you have copies of a recent survey.
If you want to save some money but possibly waste some time(as I did), go to your town office yourself and look up the deed for your property. It SHOULD have all available information; rights of way, any easements, surveys etc...You could also pay someone else to do this for you.
Another option is to pay for a complete survey done by a state certified surveyor. They'll do all the necessary paperwork at the town hall, plus come out and mark it all for you. This can get pretty expensive but worth the money for peace of mind.
You need a land surveyor. They will be able to tell you exactly where the lines are.
believe what the house papers say. your beighbors built their fences on your property. its a common problem. you could go to court and get the fences moved. your neighbors would hate you. now they just laugh at you for being stupid.
