  • All that replying to Spam does is to confirm that your e-mail address is live. It can then be put on a list of confirmed addresses that can be sold for more money than a list of unconfirmed ones. It's just an open invitation to more Spam.
  • I get about 100 spams a day. But the GMail spam filter dumps most of them for me: about one every three days gets through. And, as has been said, to reply is to ask for more.
  • I never ever reply to any spam as that tells them there is a real person with an account at that email addy. It increases the value of your email address and it then will be sold to more people.
  • Don't ever use the reply button. Opt-out or unsubscribe at the bottom of the email if available. More and more they are required to provide and opt-out option. I have noticed over a period of time that emails are coming from certain ones I unsubscribed to. Of course I still get them from elsewhere, but it does work some bit. It's like killing of one or two zombies when the hordes still coming at you wave after wave.
