I buy my music on itunes but I have an MP3 player. I open my files and try to put the music in there but it doesnt show on my MP3 player?

Well, that's pretty personal... Ha! Just kidding! I have a 250GB hard drive dedicated for my music. I also have another 250 GB back-up drive that gets mirrored once a week.
