i would say hawking above all others sparked my interest in physics ~ he was the catalyst. i cherished his books a brief history of time, black holes and baby universes, and universe in a nutshell. i thank him for opening my eyes to the possibilities... his theories rocked my universe! since then, ive gone on to study other physicists and its developed into a great passion for quantum physics. i especially love pribram and also daniel bohms wholeness & the implicate order. the holographic universe paradigm makes the world that much more exciting and full of wondrous possibilities. it captures the ineffable quality of life as i see it...

I must say that my view on life was at that time very clear already, but I felt that I was in the right tracks because of him - and Albert Einstein. I admire those guys, they just looked farther ahead than just asking "What's for dinner?"

Not through his physics, but through his attitude. Hawking visited India a few years ago, and I was very fortunate to attend his lecture in Mumbai. I was amazed to see how well he has kept his spirits up despite his disabilities, for his talk was laced with humour throughout. Lesser men would have buckled under the circumstances, but Hawking has come out the winner. Hats off to the man.
