  • If you got it recently (the piercing)... I would tell you to call your piercer... and maybe your doctor... There are many opinions on what do when you get a piercing and how to care for it. Your piercer may give you something different to try. If it continues, call your dr. You could have strep or an infection or something else and you don't want that left untreated.
  • How do you know the sore throat is from the tongue ring? And you should be using alcohol free mouth wash when you have a new piercing...
  • Possible. Buy an alcohol free mouthwash or just use saline instead. At least dilute your listerine to half strength if you keep using it. It's also possible that you're just getting sick, and your immune system is a little weaker from healing a piercing, so your sickness took hold in a weaker location, your throat. Do what you would normally do (rest, orange juice, soft foods, etc.) and see a doctor if you don't get better soon.
